Nicholas Simmonds has added names to this photo, Arthur Askey, Fred Emney, Jack Warner, Tommy Trinder and possibly John Laurie standing next to Tommy Trinder. He doesn't recognise the chap sitting in the front passenger seat but Juergen thinks it's Sandy Powell

XO5572 (66H7) 1923 used to belong to a club member some time before 2000, hopefully it still exists we don't know who owned it then or now. Nick Clark reports that it is a H.J. Mulliner Saloon, still totally original with its two wheel brakes. 66H7 was originally owned when new by J.B. Peat and according to John Fasal's book was last owned by G. Newman in 1988

Posted by John Dixon. GRJ76 (YV5469) 1927 listed in Fasal as a shooting brake in USA. My photo was loaned by the little girl sat on the running board, who was a customer at my Dad's pharmacy at Bingham around the late 70's.The notes on the back of the print say the photo was taken at Tacolneston Hall and gives the chassis and registration numbers. The car is not on the RREC database, but in 1974 was owned by Parkinson in USA.

GHJ54 was originally a 1927 William Arnold, Laudaulette rebodied by Horsfield & Sons of Halifax in the style of a Barker barrel-sided tourer. Juergen writes that he took this picture in 1983 outside the home of the late Heinz Gunter Schuhl, who back then was Secretary of the German Section who had invited him to come along many times. Further he says that he was 15 here and this was the day he was driven for the first time in a 20hp, what sheer fun! Heinz Gunter travelled a lot with this car all over Europe and in every weather.

Richard Fenner writes:- 81K4 was first mentioned in Bulletin 74 (1972), Section News Upper Canada. all members and their cars on the spacious lawn of Professor and Mrs Nyal E Wilson at Ancaster, their car a 1923 Barker Coupe 81K4. In 1964 it was advertised in Flying Lady (the RROC Magazine). Body fitted in Brazil, engine just overhauled $2600. Warley Springs Garage, Burnley Road, Halifax, England. In April 2006 81K4 was advertised in Flying Lady. First owner Sir Philip Sassoon of London and India as a limousine; he ordered a Doctors Coupe to be used on the car while in India for tiger shooting; chassis transported seasonally between London and India. Owned by the third owner for 40 years $66000, seller Nyal Wilson. There is another picture of this car in Bulletin 215 p8 1996.

Colin Hughes writes that GRK18, a 1924 Hooper laudaulette is now described as a limousine in the club database.

Graham Robinson wrote:- Kirkmichael is a small village north of Perth in Scotland. I am pretty certain the address on the door of the van has "Blairgowrie" as the last line of the address. That fits in as Kirkmichael is about 14 miles from Blairgowrie. Originally a 1929 Park Ward Weymann Saloon GVO25 reg SC5881 was re-bodied in the late 1930's and used as a shooting brake on the Fealar estate operating as a post bus in the 1950's until 1964. Still in Scotland with a replica Barker body by Jarvis.

GTM2 1928. John Fasal's book says the original body was a Hooper Limousine and the car was in USA owned by C.G. Beard when he wrote the book in 1979. It was at the 1928 Scottish Show on the Hooper stand. Bernard King's database shows GTM2 in B65/29, B78/23, B99/23. Unknown but most likely a Barker Barrel Sided Tourer

Although this car was unknown to Juergen it is now believed to be 79A8. This car 79A8 was Lot 120 at H&H Duxford Sale on 14th June 2023. It was originally supplied to New Zealand with a Johnson & Smith Tourer body, it is believed that a one off body was fitted during the 1930's in New Zealand. It is almost inconceivable that another similar bodied 20hp exists.
