Brittany Tour June 2024

20hp Rally to Brittany, 27th June - 4th July 2024

Twenty four cars crossed the Channel overnight from either Portsmouth to St Malo or Plymouth to Roscoff and all met up at L'Agapa Hotel perched on top of the hill overlooking the Plage de Trestraou in Perros-Guirec on the north coast of Brittany. Everyone agreed the hotel was a brilliant base from which to explore north Brittany, it had excellent modern rooms and facilities, excellent food and service and secure covered parking.

The cars comprised 14 20hp's, 7 other small hp cars, a Phantom 1 and two post-war RR's. The group welcomed Jenny Johnson who used to go on every 20hp rally with her late husband Derek who this time came with her friend Lizzie Shalliker. It was also good to welcome Stephen and Margaret Darvill on their first Continental Rally in their 1923 20hp open tourer 54S9 which they have owned for several years but limited their outings to local events. It was also nice to have Malcolm Brooks and Rosalba in their 1998 Seraph.

The hotel was ideally situated with picturesque views over the bay, within walking distance of Perros-Guirec town centre and the harbour from which boat trips could be taken round Les Sept Isles bird bird sanctuaries. Daily excursions were made to view the dramatic coastline and to visit local towns, cathedrals and chateaux.
