1928 Wylder Drophead Coupe GWL35

 

Rob Watling wrote: "I brought GWL35 in October 2019.  This car was built by my Grandad's company G Wylder and Co from Kew.  I have been after one of his cars for the last twenty years and finally found one." 

The car was originally fitted with an HJ Mulliner Weymann body.  It was sold by Paddon Bros sometime between 1935 and 1937 when the Weymann body was taken off and the Wylder body was fitted.  Presumably the vertical radiator was fitted as well.

Wylder was bought by Alpe & Saunders in 1937 and ceased car coachbuilding, but carried on building hearses until the mid-sixties.  It was Wylders who built the body on GPK33, the Indian car in Fasal's book that had a list of extras as long as your arm.
