1923 Barker Barrel Sided Tourer 58S5

Pieter M. de Goede of the Netherlands bought 58 S5 (a 1923 Barker barrel sided tourer) in July 2013, and it is currently undergoing restoration.  Things “wrong” with it included the hood framework, the number of spare wheels and their mountings to the chassis. The lock nut on the exhaust manifold has been modified, and some parts were missing e.g. the engine under trays and the tools.  The engine and cylinder head are points of concern.

The first 5 photos show the car as bought, the last 3 show progress with the restoration.

Pieter says: “we hope to have the car finished by spring of 2022, allowing us to use the car for some summer tours!”
