1925 Originally a Saloon by Mawhinney of Belfast re-bodied in the style of a Barker Tourer GSK 26

Originally built for Thomas H Dunlop Esq Belfast and Dunlop tyres were specified on the original order form. It was used by the company as a trial car, no doubt to develop and improve company products. Originally the car was fitted with a saloon body by Mawhinney Belfast. However, the car was discovered in the 1970’s in a sorry state with the original bodywork said to be beyond economic repair. It was decided to bring it back to life but this time with tourer coachwork in the style of Barker. I bought the car at auction in 1998 it had not been used very much for the previous 10 years. The engine was dreadful and required new pistons & liners before it could run. I had new upholstery fitted in 2001 together with a new roof and side screens in 2005 I fitted an overdrive unit plus a valstat kit to improve the cooling and stop the engine bay getting too hot. I have converted the lights to LED which made a big difference to the dynamo load at night plus they are far more effective.
