Len Meades

1929 H J Mulliner Weyman Light Saloon GFN71

The chassis was sold to Paddon Bros on 14th November 1928 and came off test on 17.12.28. It was sent to J. Young of Bromley in Kent on 21st January 1929 presumably to be fitted with an H J Mulliner Weyman light saloon body which it still has today. It is believed that the body was originally fitted to GWL35 in the Spring of 1928. GFN71 is still very original including the original interior, original tools and a touring kit supplied by Rolls-Royce.

GFN71 has an exceptional history file with all the original brown log books etc which show:-

Paddon Bros registered the car on 2nd March 1929 and sold it to Capt Alfred Jones on 22nd June 1929. It was registered to Frank Adams on 6th December 1930 and to Henry Hill Hartridge on 2nd May 1931.

On 18th January 1954 it was sold to Dr Donald Ollift of Chipping Camden. On May 30th 1958 GFN71 with a total mileage of only 63416 was sold to Dr Barnard of Chiddingfold, Surrey. In 2005 on Dr Barnard's death GFN71 had a total mileage of 96904 and was sold to a John White of Chiddingfold for the sum of £1, registered by him on 28th June 2005. John White had serviced and maintained the car for many years for Dr Barnard.

In October 2012 Len Meades bought GFN71 and registered it in his name on 18th February 2013 with a total mileage of 103175. Len has toured all over Europe with the 20hp Register and to date (12.2.25) the mileage is 114229.
