Larry Riches of Gibraltar
1926 Thrupp & Maberley Saloon GOK52
Unfortunately there is very little history with the car except that it was in a Dutch collection for some time and it appeared in the Vincent Price horror movie "The Abominable Dr Phibes" in 1971
1929 Rippon Brothers 4 door 6 light Saloon GVO15
Taken off test on 23rd July 1929 and despatched to Rippon Bros for a 4 door 6 light saloon body to be fitted. Sold new to H.P. Nelson of Nelson, Lancashire, it was his second 20hp having taken delivery of a Barker Cabriolet in 1928. GVO 15 features an ingenious "parallelogram" sunroof, external tinted Auster sun visor, quick drop down driver's window, occasional bench seat, rear luggage grid, privacy blinds and metal edged running boards to name but a few of its features. The registration VH2502 suggests it was first registered in Huddersfield. In the 1980's it was reported to be in North Wales where much restoration work was completed. Further restoration work was completed by the previous owners late father. Much of the interior except the leather work is original. The car appeared in the television series Mr Selfridge and Downton Abbey.
