Geoffrey & Jenny Allo of Jersey

1927 Originally an H.J.Mulliner Weyman saloon re-bodied by Rippon Brothers as a Six Light Saloon. GRJ21.

GRJ21 was ordered in December 1926 with the delivery of the chassis not taking place until July 1927. The car was fitted with an H.J. Mulliner Weyman fabric bodied saloon and registered in August 1927 as RX825.

The first owner only kept the car for a year after which it passed through a couple of further owners before being acquired by W. H. Coffey who commissioned Ripon Bros of Huddersfield to re-body the car. Rippon Bros fitted 6 light saloon coachwork taken from an early 20/25, the body it still retains to this day.

Sadly W. H. Coffey was killed in 1941 and the car passed to his brother Major J. W. Coffey who kept the vehicle until 2004. During his ownership the car took part in many European tours in the late 1940's and 50's. MOT certificates with the car show 58438 miles in 1985 and only 58887 miles in 1992.

The car was sold in 2004 but acquired by Geoffrey Allo in 2005 when it was shipped to Jersey showing 60085 miles and registered J6905. A full engine re-build and renovation took place during 2008/9 since when the car has been regularly used for rallies and exhibitions. In 2010 it was a Concours winner at the annual RREC event at Rockingham.
