1923 Hooper Landaulette GA63
GA63 was on test on 25th September 1923 and subsequently delivered to Hoopers for the fitting of a Landaulette body, first registered in February 1924 and delivered to A Russell Johnson. On 29th September 1929 Lady Hammick of Torquay is registered as the second owner. Reginald John Coombe acquired GA63 in February 1942 just prior to Lady Hammick's death.
In March 1956 GA63 was acquired by John Gary Fraser Galpin of Newton Ferrers, Plymouth. In June 1972 it was acquired by T Layton Roberts of Pontardulais Glamorgan who who apparently owned several pre-War Rolls-Royce motor cars. Upon Layton Roberts death on June 14th 2017 his daughter Alexandra Louise Sheehan inherited the estate and GA63 was sold to Terry Cook.
In 2024 Vintage and Prestige advertised GA63 for sale and was acquired in January 2025 by David Redfern and his wife Justyna who live in Germany,
The rare and desirable Hooper Open Drive Landaulette coachwork is in original and excellent condition. The rear Landaulette compartment is easily released and folds down effortlessly allowing for an open air feeling. Being an early car the gear lever is in the central position with 3 forward gears and braking on the rear wheels only.
